During Cultural Day, students and staff participated in activities that highlighted the customs, traditions, and values of different cultures. The events featured: Cultural Presentations: Students from different cultural backgrounds dressed in traditional attire and performed songs, dances, and skits that reflected their heritage. Food Stalls: A major part of the events included students and their families setting up food stalls where they served traditional dishes from their home countries. Traditional Games and Exhibits: Students engaged in traditional games, and the school organized exhibits showcasing cultural artifacts, art, and crafts. Music and Dance: Cultural music and traditional dances were performed to celebrate various cultures. Language Demonstrations: Some students presented short plays, poetry, or stories in their native languages. The High School Cultural Day hosted the Swedish Ambassador to Uganda to H.E Maria Håkansson – the Ambassador of Sweden applauded the school for the cultural infusion exhibits by the students.  This celebration fostered inclusivity, unity, and understanding, encouraging students to appreciate the cultural diversity around them. Cultural Day is an important event in the school calendar, bringing together students, teachers, and families to embrace different traditions and learn from one another.

PRESS RELEASE Liberty Kuza School Challenge with Liberty Life Insurance Launches Exciting Business Challenge for Students at Kabojja International School Liberty Life Insurance is excited to announce the launch of the Liberty Kuza School Challenge, a dynamic school-wide business challenge aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and business acumen among students. The challenge will provide a platform for students to develop and pitch their innovative business ideas, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. The Head of IB School & Ag Head of Cambridge is enthusiastic about this new initiative. “We believe that cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit is crucial for our students' future success. The Liberty Kuza School Challenge will inspire them to think outside the box and gain valuable experience in planning, teamwork, and financial literacy,” said Ms Anna Sundell. The Liberty Kuza School Challenge will allow students to work in teams or individually to develop a business plan from start to finish, focusing on areas such as: Business Idea Generation: Students will brainstorm innovative business concepts based on current market needs or community challenges. Market Research: Teams will analyse their target audience, competitors, and industry trends to validate their ideas. Financial Planning: Students will learn how to develop realistic budgets, forecasts, and strategies for managing resources. Pitching and Presentation: Finalists will present their business proposals to a panel of local entrepreneurs, teachers, and business leaders.  The challenge is open to students from Year 7 -13 with prizes awarded to the top-performing teams. Participants will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from local business leaders and further develop their ideas. The grand finale will take place on Sat 12 th October 2024, where teams will pitch their proposals in a competitive showcase. “Through this challenge, students will not only gain practical business skills but also learn the value of perseverance, collaboration, and leadership,” added Ms Anna Sundell. “We hope this challenge ignites a passion for innovation that will stay with them for life.”

We have become an official British Council IELTS (International English Language Testing System) centre! This means that our students and candidates can now take the IELTS exam directly at our school. Today the Business Development Manager - East Africa and Country Lead Kenya Mr Aftab Rupshi and Calvin Odudu , who's the Account Relationship Manager, Kampala office handed over the centre certificate to our Head of IB School and Ag Head of Cambridge(High School). Some of the benefits of having an IELTS centre at our school include: 1. Convenience: Our Students won't need to travel to other centers to take the exam. 2. Preparation Programs: We offer targeted preparation courses to help students succeed in the exam. 3. Reputation: Being an IELTS center has enhanced our school's reputation for providing high-quality English language education.

CELEBRATING THE 17TH GRADUATION CEREMONY: A MILESTONE OF ACHIEVEMENT On Saturday June 15th, 2024, our high school proudly celebrated its 17th graduation ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone for the graduating class of 2024 of Year 6,11 & 13, as students, faculty, family, and friends gathered to honor the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our senior students. A Day to Remember The ceremony took place at the school’s spacious football grounds, beautifully decorated to reflect the joyous occasion. As the graduates processed in, wearing their caps and gowns, the air was filled with a sense of achievement and excitement for the future. The audience was welcomed with a stirring rendition of the national anthem, performed by the school choir, setting the tone for an inspiring event. Distinguished Speakers The ceremony featured speeches from notable individuals, including our esteemed principal, Mr Sam Turya who praised the graduates for their resilience and perseverance throughout their high school journey. "This class has shown remarkable strength and adaptability, especially in the face of unprecedented challenges," the principal remarked, alluding to the unique difficulties posed by recent global events. Our keynote speaker, an accomplished educationist, Prof Juma Wasswa Balunywa delivered an empowering address, encouraging the graduates to pursue their passions and make a positive impact on the world. "Your journey does not end here," they said. "It is just the beginning of a new chapter filled with endless possibilities." Honoring Achievements The valedictorian Kisa Michelle Kiracho, delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on shared memories and the growth experienced over the past 6 years. "We have learned not only from textbooks but from each other," they said, emphasizing the importance of friendships and the support of the school community. A Glimpse into the Future As their certificates were handed out, each student's name was met with applause and cheers from the audience. The sense of pride and accomplishment was palpable as the graduates moved their tassels from right to left, symbolizing their transition from students to alumni. A reception followed, allowing graduates and their families to take photos, share memories, and enjoy refreshments. Looking Ahead The 17th graduation ceremony was a testament to the dedication and spirit of our school community. As we bid farewell to the class of 2024, we are filled with hope and excitement for their future endeavors. The Step-Up Ceremony is a time-honoured tradition that: Recognized Achievement: Celebrated the accomplishments of our reception students over the past year. Built Confidence: Encouraged children to take pride in their progress and feel excited about the future. Fostered Community: Brought together families, teachers, and peers to support and cheer for the young graduates. Highlights of the Ceremony The ceremony is designed to be memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved. Key highlights include: Welcome Speech: A warm introduction by the headteacher Miss Goretti Mbabazi and our principal Mr Sam Turya, highlighting the importance of the day and the progress of the children have made. Student Performances: Short performances by the reception students, such as singing songs, reciting poems were held. Certificate Presentation: Each child received a certificate of achievement, symbolizing their readiness to move on to the next grade. Photo Opportunities: Families and children took pictures to commemorate the occasion, creating lasting memories. A Day to Remember The Reception Step-Up Ceremony is more than just an event; it was a celebration of growth, learning, and the bright future ahead for our young students. We invited all families to join us in this joyous occasion to honor our reception class and their wonderful achievements. Our guest of honour Mr Ponsiano Kiggundu encouraged the learners to aspire for more and reach for the stars.

Engaging Young Minds in the Joy of Mathematics Our annual Junior School Maths Week was an exciting week which was dedicated to celebrating and exploring the wonders of mathematics through a variety of fun and interactive activities designed for our young learners. Our goal was to show students that math is not only essential but also enjoyable and applicable in everyday life. Some of the themes included creativity meets mathematics. Learners created beautiful geometric art, explore fractal patterns, and design tessellations. This activity not only enhanced their understanding of geometric shapes and symmetry but also demonstrated the inherent beauty of math in art. It's a perfect blend of logic and creativity! Maths Day featured a variety of game stations where students can play math board games, card games, and puzzles like Math Bingo, Sudoku, and Tangrams. These games were designed to reinforce math skills in an engaging and interactive way, making learning feel like play. Competitions and Challenges Throughout the week, students can participate in various competitions and challenges designed to stimulate their mathematical thinking. We had Guest Speakers from various professions who use math in their careers. These experts shared how math plays a crucial role in their daily work, inspiring students to see the value of math in different fields.
