STUDENT LIFE
Extra Curricular Activities
Extra-curricular programmes and activities encourage students to explore personal interests and passions. As students pursue these interests, they learn more about their strengths and possible career paths. These discoveries can be lasting and life-changing. At Kabojja International School, this mainly involves sports like skating, ballet, young engineers, dance and Lamda. These help grow the skills of learners outside the curriculum and develop the potential of the learner.
Student Clubs
We have many student clubs where different interests, passion and talents are developed. Generally, a club is created and run by current students, and it’s sponsored by principal, or director of a major academic or operational unit. A club organisation must also have a mission that’s consistent with the mission of the school and it might also collect dues from members, but in many cases, membership is free. Clubs at high school include Sauti ya Milele (Music, Dance and Drama), Debate, Interact and Environment. A learner at KIS is encouraged to join at least a club for socialising purposes.
GET INVOLVED
Student Leadership
At KIS, we nurture future leaders . Student leadership means students take active roles in their education and develop positive skills in the process. The goal of inspiring student leaders is to create a culture of ownership, collaboration and community in the classroom. Each Year we have students vote their leadership who them become vocal piece of the learners on various issues.
Service & Volunteerism
It is a norm of KIS to promote and actively engage in Community Social Responsiblity (CSR). The school has developed the Book Donation Project to enhance literacy and improve the reading culuture amongst schools and communities around us.
Some of the schools that have benefited from this project are St. Joseph's COU Primary School Munyonyo, Makindye, Military Primary School, Katuuso S.S.S, St. Dennis S.S.S Ggaba, Global High School, Salaama and Buziga Islamic School, among others.
Every year, the students give back to the community through corporate responsibilities .This is also part of our sustainability plan as a school. The students take lead (they mobilise funds through car washes, food sales etc). They identify a project in the community which is in need and they donate the items bought. This is to instil a spirit of selflessness among the learners.
Graduation
At the end of each learner’s journey, celebration is key; hence, we hold a graduation ceremony for our year 6, 11, 12 & 13 learners to celebrate their milestone and also wish them well in their next journey. We wish them luck in all their future endeavours and congratulate them on the great success.
