PASTORAL CARE

HEAD OF PASTORAL MESSAGE

Our pastoral programme is grounded in the commitment to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students are treated with care and respect. We value diversity and encourage meaningful relationships among students and between students and staff.

Whereas the Head of Pastoral Affairs and the Deans oversee students’ general well-being, pastoral care is a shared responsibility across the entire school. All staff members, both teaching and non-teaching, are expected to contribute to the overall care of our students by reinforcing the school’s expectations regarding positive behaviour, healthy attitudes to learning, and by staying alert to any signs of concern.

Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to the effectiveness of pastoral care. Early identification and joint action on concerns are key to supporting students in a timely and meaningful way. The classroom teacher serves as the main point of contact between the school, students, and parents, and therefore plays a central role in pastoral support. Subject teachers also contribute by being aware of student needs and responding appropriately to concerns raised. Students should feel comfortable approaching their teachers, knowing their concerns will be handled sensitively and efficiently.

The school is committed to supporting students' cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual growth. For boarders, the residence staff ensure that students receive a high level of care that promotes their overall well-being and personal development. Our religious leaders also play an important role in the pastoral system by offering students a trusted source of advice, encouragement, and guidance.
