LEARNER SUPPORT
At Kabojja International School, we are dedicated to meeting the varying needs of our learners in a supportive environment where they are equipped with the right tools to thrive. Additionally, we believe in fostering positive peer relationships and attitudes toward disability and learning differences.
Our Learning support team collaborates with learners, parents, and staff to provide services aimed at overcoming barriers to learning and creating a sense of belonging which are fundamental to well-being and learner success.
Depending on their needs and interests, learners may receive one, small group, and or whole-classroom interventions.
Services provided include;
- Counselling: The counselling team provides psycho-social support services to learners to enhance academic achievement and support student success.
- Learning Support Educators: Learning support educators provide tailored academic support and accommodations that are responsive to our learners’ needs which helps them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy services focus on building and maintaining skills needed for daily living and independence among learners with physical, intellectual, and neuro-developmental differences. Our Occupational Therapist Officer supports learners in meeting developmental, behavioural, and sensory integration needs.
- Speech and Language Therapy: Speech and language therapy services are provided to learners to build, improve, and maintain communication skills to enhance their quality of life. Our Speech therapist officer works with learners to address articulation, phonological processing, fluency, voice, language, social, and cognitive communication difficulties.
